PilatesbyBeth is Pilates for the mind and body, making you think about how you move. It’s Matwork Pilates sessions of strength, alignment and core work, based on Joseph Pilates’ founding principles, with a smile throughout.

My Story

I am a passionate, enthusiastic Matwork teacher trained in the Body Control Pilates Method. I am fully insured and have a full and valid Emergency First Aid certification.

My practise is particularly concerned with alignment, helping clients to move better and more freely and with exercises which build strength for the core and postural muscles.

After a career in national newspaper media, I was very guilty of spending my working life hunched over a computer at a cramped office desk. Meanwhile, a purely cardio running fitness regime and numerous fractures resulted in a diagnosis of osteoporosis –  with Pilates one of the weight-bearing tools I used to remedy this.

My particular Pilates interest specialism lies in Bone Health and building bone strength and bone density through the weight bearing exercises of the Pilates repertoire.

My classes are light hearted, supportive and aim to leave clients feeling strong and with a smile.
